LATEST NEWS SKILLING SOLUTIONS QLD - STATE GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE NEED YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FORMALLY RECOGNISED?Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises your work/life skills and knowledge no matter how/when or where your learning occurred and assesses them to see if they meet today's indstry standards. To learn more about RPL in Australia click here Even if you've never formally studied or trained, you may be able to have your skills recognised through us. Skilling Solutions Queensland (SSQ) is an innovative new training and career information service offered by the State Government that has been developed in response to the need for more accessible, streamlined, work based skills recognition services, focused on individual customers and industry workforces. Skilling Solutions Queensland (SSQ) helps you to fast track your employment prospects by putting you in touch with a network of registered training organisations (such as us) that can assess your current level of skills as part of a recognition of prior learning process. The Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) will subsidize $500.00 towards your RPL application.The difference in cost is incurred by the student. This makes achieving yourformal qualification much more attainable. The RPL process is clear, concise and easy to follow. An assessor will go through your evidence to make sure that you meet the competencies for each unit within the qualification. If there are some gaps in your knowledge/skills your assessor will advise you, and guide you to the next step of gap training. Some conditions apply so please contact us to learn more. We currently offer this RPL process for the following courses: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Training and Assessment, Certificates III and IV in Aged Care Work and Certificates III and IV in Disability Work. PRODUCTIVITY PLACES PROGRAM (PPP) SKILLING AUSTRALIANS FOR THE FUTURE
As part of the Skilling Australia for the Future initiative, the Commonwealth government recognises the importance of nationally endorsed training in assisting job seekers to acquire skills and gain lasting employment and assisting existing workers to update or upgrade their skills. The government has allocated 630,000 training places over four years to ensure that Australians develop the skills that industry needs. The training places will be delivered in an industry-driven system, ensuring that training is more responsive to the needs of enterprises and individuals. The training places are available from 1 April 2008. The Productivity Places Program is a great way to improve your skills so you can find employment. It provides new training places in skills and occupations employers are seeking and is designed to help you secure long term employment. As a provider of the PPP, Southern Cross International Learning Institute (SCILI and SCC) will deliver training in local and remote areas to assist you to gain a new qualification or upgrade your existing one. Training will only be available in industries experiencing skill shortages. At this stage we are offering Certificate III in Aged Care Work, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. To be eligible for a training place, you need to be currently looking for work.The Australian Government will fully fund training under the Program for job seekers. You also need to be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia and be over the age of 15. Some other eligibility criteria apply, please contact us to learn more.
TESOL TRAINING IN THE PHILIPPINES!! October 2007 Our first Certificate IV in TESOL course has been successfully completed at Benguet State University (BSU), in the Philippines! Nineteen (19) students from Benguet State University participated in our first offshore delivery of Certificate IV in TESOL with outstanding results. Our TESOL course is unique because it not only gives our international students an Australian Certificate IV qualification; it also gives them 7 units of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment! As well as achieving the Australian qualifications, all graduates are prescribed trainers in the 4s English Teaching Methodologies. Carmel flew to the Philippines to oversee training components of the course and to participate in the first Graduation Ceremony. Southern Cross International Learning Institute (SCILI) is looking forward to running more courses in South – East Asia in the New Year in partnership with Benguet State University (BSU).
